What you need
- An Android phone or tablet with Android 6.0 or newer.
- Your own legal M3U playlist (link or file) – FIDA Player itself contains no channels, movies or series.
- The app is not available for iPhone and iPad.
The phone app is a standalone app: you can install it independently of the TV version, and every device has its own device ID and its own playlists.
Install FIDA Player on your phone
- On your phone or tablet, download the APK file in the download section under “Phone & tablet”.
- Open the downloaded file (notification or the “Files” or “Downloads” app).
- If Android asks about installing from unknown sources, allow it once for the browser or file app. Depending on the manufacturer this is under Settings › Apps › Special app access › Install unknown apps.
- Install, open it and add your playlist – paste the M3U link.
Later the app checks for new versions by itself and asks whether to update.
Add your playlist
On the phone it is simple: paste the M3U link (from the clipboard, a message or the browser), give it a name if you like and save. FIDA Player then loads the playlist and sorts it by groups. The phone app accepts M3U links.
Want to use the same playlist on your TV too? The Android TV page and the Fire TV page explain how to send a link or file from your phone to the TV.
Touch controls
- Bottom bar with Live TV, Movies, Series and Settings.
- The channel list slides open over the running picture; groups and favorites are one tap away.
- Movies and series appear in a grid of posters you can swipe through, with “Continue watching” and the next episode starting automatically.
- Full screen with a button – also on large tablets and foldables.
- Audio track and subtitles are selectable; the app remembers the language.
If something doesn’t work
The installation is blocked
Allow the browser or the file app to install under “Install unknown apps” (step 3 above). Then open the file again.
A channel stutters or has no sound
In the settings, switch to the other player (ExoPlayer or VLC) or increase the buffer – this helps especially on a weak mobile connection. After repeated errors the app also switches the player by itself.
The playlist does not load
Try opening the M3U link in the browser: if it doesn’t load there, the link is the problem. Typical causes are listed under Play an M3U playlist.
